Interior angles of polygons

The interior angle of a polygon is the angle formed inside the polygon by two adjacent sides.


SUM OF THE INTERIOR ANGLES OF A POLYGON

The sum of the interior angles of a polygon can be found by dividing the polygon into triangles.

For example, in the diagram of the right, the pentagon can be divided into three triangles.

Therefore, sum of the interior angles

=3x180º

=540º
